Effective Christian Leadership for Today

Are You Ready to Lead? In today’s complex and rapidly changing world, effective Christian leadership is vital to guide Christian communities with focused faith, prioritized purpose, and inspirational integrity. A leader has a goal and communicates that vision to others, but true leadership transcends personal qualities—it requires followers who trust and embrace the vision.  A future leader without followers may have a vision but hasn’t yet connected with the right group. Leadership can involve a personal journey of refining one’s qualities and waiting for the right moment or people to align with their leadership vision. This usually follows periods of intense self reflection and preparation. Christian leaders, rooted in Biblical principles, must exhibit traits like a spiritual vision, empathy, and integrity while fostering a dynamic relationship of trust and mutual respect with peers and with God Himself.  The essence of effective Christian leadership includes integrating key characteristics, reasons for gaining or losing followers, and the motivations that draw people to follow, underpinned by targeted passages from the King James Bible. The Foundation of Christian Leadership Visionary and Purpose-Driven Leadership A visionary leader sees the big picture and sets a clear direction. For Christian leaders, this vision aligns with God’s purpose. As Proverbs 29:18 declares, “Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.” A leader’s role is to prayerfully discern God’s will and communicate it clearly, inspiring others to follow a path of faith and service. Integrity and Accountability Integrity—acting with honesty, ethics, and consistency—is non-negotiable. Psalm 78:72 reflects this in David’s leadership: “So he fed them according to the integrity of his heart; and guided them by the skilfulness of his hands.” Christian leaders must also be accountable, taking responsibility for their actions and decisions, modeling a life aligned with God’s truth. Key Characteristics of Effective Christian Leaders Communication and Empathy Effective leaders express ideas clearly and listen actively. James 1:19 advises, “Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath.” Empathy complements this, as leaders value others’ perspectives and needs, fostering connection. Jesus exemplified this, showing compassion to the multitudes (Matthew 9:36). Decisive and Adaptable Decisiveness enables leaders to make informed choices under pressure, while adaptability helps navigate change. Joshua 1:9 encourages boldness: “Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.” Christian leaders rely on God’s strength to face challenges flexibly. Inspiration and Empowerment Inspirational leaders motivate others to achieve goals, while empowering ones delegate tasks and support growth. Paul’s charge in 2 Timothy 2:2—“And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also”—urges leaders to inspire and equip others for ministry. Resilient and Strategic Resilience allows leaders to persist through setbacks, and strategic planning aligns actions with goals. Philippians 3:14 captures this drive: “I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.” Christian leaders must remain focused, trusting God’s guidance to overcome obstacles. Building a Following Through Biblical Principles Trust, Compassion, and Stability People follow leaders who offer trust, compassion, and stability. Proverbs 3:5-6 instructs, “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” By demonstrating consistency and care, Christian leaders foster belonging and hope, creating a stable foundation for growth. Direction, Purpose, and Inspiration Followers seek direction and purpose. Jesus said in John 14:6, “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” Christian leaders point others to Christ, inspiring them through a shared vision and motivating them to exceed their potential in service to God. Challenges to Gaining and Retaining Followers Lack of Inspiration and Poor Communication Without inspiration, leaders fail to tap into unique motivations, and poor communication leaves teams confused. Colossians 4:6 advises, “Let your speech be alway with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.” Clear, gracious communication is essential to engage followers. Disingenuousness and Failure to Lead by Example Disingenuousness erodes trust, and failing to lead by example undermines credibility. 1 Timothy 4:12 exhorts, “Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.” Christian leaders must live authentically, reflecting Christ’s love and humility. Neglecting Team Empowerment Not believing in team members’ abilities or failing to listen stifles growth. Ephesians 4:11-12 highlights equipping others: “And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; for the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ.” Empowering and valuing input builds loyalty. The Call to Christian Leadership Today Connecting With Today’s Diverse Audiences Christian leaders must connect with diverse audiences, demonstrating an unwavering dedication to God. 1 Peter 3:15 urges, “But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear.” This outreach inspires both believers and non-believers. A Lasting Impact Effective Christian leadership blends vision, integrity, and compassion, rooted in Biblical truth. By leading with respect, empowering others, and trusting in God’s guidance, leaders inspire followers to achieve a shared, eternal purpose. As Matthew 5:16 proclaims, “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” A Challenge Effective Christian leadership for today demands more than human leadership qualities—it requires a dynamic, trust-based relationship with God, Himself, inspired by a relentless vision to serve others and grounded in God’s Word. By embodying visionary, empathetic, and resilient traits, and avoiding pitfalls

A Biblical Perspective of Depression

You aren’t alone. Have you ever felt bad, underappreciated, or even rejected? We see others get promoted, chosen, or favored while we feel passed over. These feelings stem from failed expectations. We feel cheated, set aside, and even neglected, while we believe that’s just wrong! Depression is a complex and multifaceted condition that affects millions of people worldwide. This debilitating mental state of mind may then manifest as persistent sadness, loss of interest, and diminished hope and result in cursing, self hate, and even suicide attempts, which may be a fool hearted way to lash out at others. While physical, biological, environmental, and psychological factors compound depression, a negative, lost, and deceptive self reflective attitude of despair envelopes those who suffer with this affliction. Unfortunately, the cause is often the burden of unmet expectations, both self-imposed and imposed by others. The Bible actually offers some profound insights into this complex human emotional condition and provides some hopeful remedies.  Depression is an emotional challenge. It chains the spirit and deflates the soul. It’s an issue of the heart and mind. The Scriptures provide wisdom to navigate the weight of unmet expectations. By exploring Biblical psychological perspectives we can trace how unrealistic expectations, misaligned priorities, and a lack of faith in God’s plan for daily living can cause depression and offer realistic solutions.  The Weight of Unrealistic Expectations One significant cause of depression is the pressure of unrealistic expectations, whether placed upon oneself or imposed by others. In modern society, individuals are often driven to achieve idealized standards of success, appearance, or status, leading to feelings of inadequacy when these goals remain unmet. Psychologically, this creates a downward cyclical spiral of hopelessness, self-criticism, and despair, as individuals measure their self worth against seemingly unattainable ideals. Folks tend to judge themselves by what they think others think of them. In other words, our self worth may be dependent on the opinions of others. I once observed a Christian middle school student encourage a distressed girl who was crying because she wasn’t accepted well by peers. She counseled her; “The only thing that really matters is if you’re popular with God.” Wasn’t that insightful? The sad student’s attitude changed instantly. The Bible warns against the dangers of placing one’s value in worldly achievements or human approval. If we keep our focus on God, by first seeking “the kingdom of God, and His righteousness; [then] all these things shall be added unto you,” (Matthew 6:33). In other words, all of the disappointments of life are remedied by maintaining a heavenly perspective. Look at your problems from God’s point of view and get on His side of the matter. It’s His mind over our matter. Another person suggested striving for approval of God, not man. In Ecclesiastes 1:14, King Solomon reflects on a worldly perspective, “I have seen all the works that are done under the sun; and, behold, all is vanity and vexation of spirit.” This verse highlights the futility of chasing fleeting, worldly expectations, which often lead to emptiness rather than fulfillment. Even depression can greatly be used by God to refocus our priorities for the better. King Solomon, despite his immense wealth and wisdom, found that striving for temporal success without a God-centered purpose led to a sense of hopelessness—a sentiment akin to modern depression and despair. When individuals anchor their expectations in societal metrics, how circumstances impact you, rather than God’s eternal promises, they risk falling into despair when those expectations crumble. Depression’s Silver Lining Here is an interesting thought. Depression could actually be the best thing that happens to a person if it brings them to a realistic and healthy realignment of values and faith. Luke 53:32-33, “And Jesus answering said unto them, they that are whole need not a physician; but they that are sick. I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.” Those who are seemingly spiritually healthy do not necessarily find the need for a Savior. It is the sins of others or ourselves that got us into this predicament.  Only Jesus can permanently heal. I understand that serious depression can be utterly overwhelming. Allow me to share with you how I overcame a very dark deep depression in just a few seconds. Is it possible to lift yourself up by your own bootstraps? I did! I was driving and found myself so wrapped up in my problems that I was hardly paying attention to my surroundings.  I was so deep in a personal depression that I almost lost consciousness. Suddenly, it occurred to me that I had to find something, anything, to be thankful for. I just kept naming everything I could. I started thanking God for this and that. Suddenly,  I began to sing. It wasn’t long that I sang out loud praises to God. I have never been that low again and when I start slipping into intense self reflection, I immediately return to an attitude of gratitude and save myself. Depression may be something you can control, according to the Bible. You can decide to “Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me,” (John 14:1). You can decide to “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths,” (Proverbs 3: 5-6). It’s all up to you. This is something anyone can do if they open their eyes of faith. Moreover, Philippians 4:11-13 states, “Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content. I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound… I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” The Apostle Paul’s words remind us that contentment in God’s provision, rather than striving for unattainable ideals, fosters resilience against the emotional toll of unmet expectations. Depression can arise when individuals fail to embrace this Biblical principle, and instead,

Bible Lessons from Trees

Trees offer profound lessons about life, resilience, and God’s creation. They are rooted deeply, defy gravity, provide shade, supply firewood, and serve as materials for building homes and crafting beautiful furniture. Their utility and symbolism reflect God’s design and purpose, teaching us enduring truths about faith and existence. Pointing to God Some believe trees point upward to God, symbolizing a connection to the divine. While trees in the northern hemisphere appear to reach skyward, those in the southern hemisphere might seem to point downward due to the Earth’s curvature. Yet, their growth toward light reflects a universal striving for God’s glory. As Psalm 148:7-9 declares, “Praise the Lord from the earth… mountains and all hills, fruit trees and all cedars,” trees are part of creation’s chorus glorifying God, reminding us to look up. Trees Defy Gravity and Store Sunshine Trees miraculously draw water from roots to their highest leaves, defying gravity through God’s intricate design. Their leaves absorb sunlight, storing energy that, when burned as firewood, releases warmth and light from the sun. A campfire is essentially stored sunshine, a testament to God’s provision embedded in nature. John 1:4 reminds us, “In Him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind,” suggesting that the life-giving energy in trees mirrors the divine light of Christ sustaining creation. Jesus, the Son of God, offers and sustains life for mankind. Steadfast The Bible encourages us in 1 Corinthians 15:58 to “be ye steadfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.” In my topsy-turvy world, the tree in my front yard stands steady and immovable, greeting me daily with its quiet strength. This stability reflects God’s unchanging nature, as described in Hebrews 13:8: “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” Like the tree, God remains a constant anchor amidst life’s storms. Design Have you noticed that tree branches with leaves often start several feet above ground level? This seems intentional, perhaps shaped by animals nibbling foliage within reach but more likely, by God’s design to allow people to walk beneath without constantly stooping. This accessibility reflects God’s care for creation’s harmony, as seen in Genesis 1:29: “And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.” Trees are structured to serve both man and animals. They are God’s wondrous creation. Sustenance Trees provide shade from the harsh sun, but many offer far more. Fruit trees yield delicious bounty—oranges, plums, cherries, bananas, apples, and avocados, to name a few. This provision echoes God’s generosity, as Psalm 104:14-16 states, “He causeth the grass to grow for the cattle, and herb for the service of man: that he may bring forth food out of the earth; And wine that maketh glad the heart of man, and oil to make his face to shine, and bread which strengtheneth man’s heart. The trees of the Lord are full of sap; the cedars of Lebanon, which he hath planted.” Even Christmas trees, adorned in celebration, remind us of God’s gift of Jesus. Memorials The tallest tree ever recorded, the Nooksack Giant, a Coast Douglas-fir, stood 465 feet before being cut down in 1896. My wife and I once sought the world’s tallest tree in the 1980s in Northern California’s Redwoods. Upon arrival, a ranger informed us that the tree, after growing for 500 years, had fallen in a storm the previous weekend. He smiled and said, “Lucky for you, here it lies, and you can get a really good look at it now.” This experience humbled us, reminding us of life’s impermanence, as Ecclesiastes 3:1-2 notes, “To everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven: a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot.” Today, the tallest standing tree, named Hyperion, and the largest, named the General Sherman, both reside in California, 427 miles apart. Hyperion soars to 380 feet in Redwoods National Park, while General Sherman, in Sequoia National Park near Mount Whitney, stands 272 feet tall with a mass of 52,508 cubic feet and a weight exceeding 6,000 tons (over 12 million pounds). Its branches alone dwarf most trees, and its base spans over 100 feet in circumference. These giants reflect God’s grandeur, as Job 37:14 invites us to be still and consider God’s wonders. “Hearken unto this, O Job: stand still, and consider the wondrous works of God. Dost thou know when God disposed them, and caused the light of his cloud to shine? Dost thou know the balancings of the clouds, the wondrous works of him which is perfect in knowledge?” Provision With over 23,000 tree species worldwide, trees provide food, medicine, and building materials. They offer shade, act as windbreaks, control floods by anchoring soil, and provide safe nesting for birds. A mature leafy tree produces enough oxygen for two to ten people annually and absorbs up to 48 pounds of carbon dioxide yearly. This life-sustaining role aligns with Genesis 2:9, “The Lord God made all kinds of trees grow out of the ground—trees that were pleasing to the eye and good for food.” Endurance The oldest tree, a bristlecone pine over 5,000 years old, stands in the White Mountains near Nevada’s border. Visiting these remarkable trees—Hyperion, General Sherman, and this ancient pine—reveals their longevity as a testament to God’s enduring creation. Psalm 92:12-14 compares righteous living to enduring trees: “The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree. They shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon and those that be planted in the house of the LORD shall flourish in the courts of our God. They shall still bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be fat and flourishing.” Trees, in their strength, provision,

Your Memorial Day

Today is Memorial Day and it just happens to be my 60th anniversary of coming to America as a child. Today is also the day we remember our loved ones who have passed on as well as the service men and women who gave their lives for our freedom. And one more thing, remembering Jesus, who gave His life for us. Matthew 5:4“Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.” John 15:13“Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.” Perhaps you are thinking of a loved one you have lost. It is comforting to know that they are in a better place. But how do we know for sure? Can we know for sure? Those who know the Lord can with assurance say yes! Yet, we have many friends and acquaintances, even folks you may not have yet met, who do not know of the good news of the Gospel. While we are still here, we need to be on a mission to not only make sure we will go to heaven, but to explain how others God brings into our lives can also know for sure. 1 John 5:13 gives us this assurance that “These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life.” In Luke 22:19, we are commanded to remember Jesus and do this in memory of Him, “And he took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, ‘This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me.’” This is your Memorial Day. We need to remember the death of Jesus Christ. Although the Substitutionary Atonement is a simple theological doctrine to understand, the full ramifications of Christ paying for all our sins is the most profound concept in the universe. 1 Corinthians 15:3 makes it clear, “that Christ died for our sins.” However, although Christ paid for all of our sins on the Cross with His very Blood, not everyone appropriates that great gift of salvation. 1 John 5:12 provides the answer that “God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God does not have life.” Speaking of memory, do you remember a time that you personally owned up to your sin and its consequence of eternal separation from God in hell? John 3:36 warns that only those “that believeth on the Son hath eternal life; but he that obeyeth not the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abideth on him.” If you can’t remember the moment Jesus moved into your heart, then He isn’t there. If you don’t have Him, His death doesn’t count for you. If you don’t remember being born again, perhaps you can make a new memory now and receive Him now. Think about the sins that keep you from heaven. Lies, lust, greed, disrespect to parents, doing things you know are wrong, you need forgiveness. Christ took your sins upon Himself and died. Accept Him now as your personal Savior. Ask Him to forgive you and let Him into your life and make a new eternal memorial day!

Many Misconceptions About God

If creation is real, then there must be only one supreme creator in charge of everything. Because the universe was actually created instead of just simply evolved, there must be one mastermind God behind the entire project. But people construct God in their own imagination. So how many Gods do people think really exist?? Anthropologists estimate that at least 18,000 different gods, goddesses, and various animals or objects have been worshipped by humans throughout history: Judaism, Christianity, and Islam, are monotheistic, believing in one single God. And Hinduism is polytheistic, meaning that they believe in many gods. However, they also believe that there must just be one single supreme force that manifests its essence in various forms. Consider that there are around 4,200 total religions in the world, each with its own set of deities, leading to a large number of potential gods. But Hinduism may even have 330 million, representing the many aspects of deity. In contrast, Buddhism and Jainism, don’t believe in gods in the traditional sense but simply believe that there are higher powers, enlightened beings, and mystical divine figures. So how many Gods are there really? Just One. God created you and this wonderful planet sustained by consistent sunshine and abundant rain from above. Life is a gift from the Creator. It’s simply too preposterous to believe that life, in all its symmetrical complexity and apparent “design”, has evolved through mutation “by chance”. God, an intelligent Designer, has carefully crafted creation to sustain life. So if God exists, why do people from all nations, come up with all of these manifestations of God? Is there no consensus? Yes, there is an underlying consensus establishing the validity of design in nature that screams creation and a Creator. This worldwide consensus not only stems from observation but from a historical explanation. God created the world. A worldwide Flood destroyed the world. One family survived. They knew God had done this. All families on earth are descendants of Noah. Our ancestor, Noah, knew the true God and knew the truth about the Flood. This story was passed down through the ages to all civilizations. But the truth of God has been distorted into myths, mysticism, and manifestations of a perceived reality. Therefore, according to this summation found in Romans 10:2-4, “They have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge. For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and seeking to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted to the righteousness of God.” Furthermore, (Romans 1:24 to 32) “Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen” The mission is to restore the true reality of Who God is to all people groups. We are restoring all cultures to their lost foundation of their ancient ancestor, Noah. Advancing this great commission is the most worthy calling of the true believer in the One true God Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth. The Great Commission (Matthew 28:16-20) explains this as “Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen” The Bible proclaims that truly, there is only one true God. 1 Timothy 2:5 – “For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;” Isaiah 44:6 – “Thus saith the LORD the King of Israel, and his redeemer the LORD of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God.” Isaiah 43:11 – “I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no Saviour.” 1 Corinthians 8:6 – “But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him.” James 2:19 – “Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.” Isaiah 43:10 – “Ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me.” Revelation 1:8 – “I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.” Jude 1:25 – “To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.” Isaiah 42:8 – “I am the LORD: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images.” Mark 12:29 – “And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord. “Deuteronomy 6:4-15″Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord: And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.” Be true to yourself. Accept the truth that there is ONLY ONE GOD and that He loves you and that He wants to have a personal relationship with you, HIS SPECIAL CREATION!

My Mountain Top Experiences

Here are some significant mountain top experiences found in the Bible:Mount Sinai: Moses received the Ten Commandments from God (Exodus 19-20).Mount Moriah: Abraham was tested by God when asked to sacrifice Isaac (Genesis 22:1-19).Mount Tabor: The Transfiguration of Jesus, where He revealed His divine glory (Matthew 17:1-13).Mount Ararat: Noah’s Ark, where the Ark came to rest after the Flood (Genesis 8:4).Mount of Olives: The Garden of Gethsemane where Jesus often went to pray (Matthew 26:36-46). Allow me to tell you about my two significant “mountain top” experiences. On Top of the Alps (Hitler’s Hideout) Has God ever given you a burden for the lost? Have you yearned for your friends and relatives to come to Christ? In my case, my wife, Debbie, led both my parents to the Lord shortly before they died. Those were wonderful experiences, but God gave me a burden for cities and countries to hear the Gospel. Here are two amazing answers to mountain top prayers. After my conversion, I was sent back to my home country, Germany, but not as a civilian, as a soldier in the US Army. I attended a Christian servicemen’s center in our town where I wandered out, using this as a home base, to share Christ with the lost of my city, Schweinfurt, Germany. One day, we went on a Christian retreat to Berchtesgaden, a beautiful valley located on the edge of the Alps. One morning, I hiked to the top of a mountain and found the Eagle’s Nest, a home on top known as Hitler’s hideout. From there, I gazed north out to the flat lands of Germany stretching as far as the North Sea. At that moment, God gave me a heavy burden for the lost of my town and I poured out my heart for their salvation. But I knew it was a huge task to reach them, so I just left it in God’s hands. When we arrived back in town, I asked our leader what those folks were doing standing on almost every street corner. He found out that Operation Mobilization (OM), an interdenominational mission organization founded in 1957 by George Verwer with 5,000 members, had chosen our town for a city-wide evangelism campaign. Somehow, God knew this ahead of time and gave me the burden of prayer for this event while on top of that mountain. Mount Diablo Range (Mount of the Devil) A second mountain top event happened when I was standing on top of a hill overlooking the giant San Francisco Bay Area. It’s a long bowl surrounded by coastal range mountains. God again gave me a burden for the lost as I looked down, scanning San Francisco Bay from the north to the south. I prayed fervently for the lost to be reached. I had since then, become a Gideon. We are the folks who place Bibles in hotel room drawers and give out New Testaments to school kids. Well, shortly after I prayed, I found out that the Gideons International had chosen a large city in the Bay Area, San Jose, as the next location for their annual International Convention. Of course, I found myself helping to prepare for this. I became the head chairman for Prayer and Evangelism. I was in charge of selecting places for delegates to go to share Christ. Each one of them, a mature Christian, skilled at witnessing and handing out Bibles on the streets. God provided five luxury busses to send out teams all over the area daily! That event reached some of the South Bay for Christ but I was soon appointed as area director for most of the North Bay. That means I was able to visit all the Gideon camps and challenge them to reach their communities for Christ. My areas included the Livermore Valley, Concord, Walnut Creek and all cities inbetween, the Napa Valley, San Rafael, the entire San Francisco Penninsula, and even San Jose. When God gives you a burden for the lost, remember, “God is not willing that any should perish, but desires all to come to repentance,” 2 Peter 3:9. May the Lord lay upon your heart a burden of prayer and may you enjoy your mountain top experience of seeing your prayers answered.

Spiritual Revivalism

We have all heard about significant revivals throughout history. There are stories of how they begin and the impact they have. Even President Trump’s faith, himself, stems from the results of a revival in Scotland. He still treasures a precious Bible that was passed down from his family because of that event. But what is PERSONAL REVIVAL and how does it apply to you? We are all familiar with the process of reviving someone who is dead by resuscitation or chest compressions to keep them alive until help arrives. But how did they almost die? What happened to cause this near death experience? And how does this relate to spiritual revival? The first prerequisite of true revival is life itself. The critical point is that not everyone has spiritual life. But you say, if you’re alive, then you have spiritual life. Not so. You have physical life. The Bible says that “the soul that sins shall die” (Ezekiel 18:20). This means. That when a person commits their first sin that they die spiritually. There are so many things that are considered sinful. The Bible states that “whatever is not of faith is sin.” In other words, if you know that it’s wrong and that God wouldn’t approve, then it is sinful (Romans 14:23). The Bible clarifies spiritual death by explaining that “all have sinned and fall short of the Glory of God.” This is called “SPIRITUAL” death. Let’s ponder this a little more. Jesus Christ died on the cross to redeem all of creation from the curse of death. There really was no death anywhere until Adam sinned. At that moment, “death entered the world” and animals and plants began to die as well. Adam and Eve eventually died physically. All of us are on that same path to physical death because of the original sin of Adam. But spiritual death is something different for us today. When babies enter the Earth, they are born beautifully created and wonderfully fashioned by God without sin. Some Bible passages seem to indicate that people are born sinful. That’s not the case. Babies are born innocent. They enter into a sinful world, but they themselves are spiritually clean. Think about that. The only way a baby could be born sinful would be if God places sin into the heart of a fetus. That would make God a sinner. That’s not possible! Jesus gave His life as a substitutionary atonement to pay for our sins with his own body. The reason I couldn’t pay for your sins is because I have my own sins. But Jesus never sinned. He could pay for your sins, all of them, since He never sinned, He was punished for no reason of His own wrongdoing. Jesus was pure and holy. He was crucified. His blood flowed. What can wash away my sin? Nothing but the blood of Jesus (1 John 1:7). Generally, there are three types of spiritual revival. There is the revival of a civilization, the revival of a religion, and the revival of an individual. It is therefore necessary for all believers to periodically evaluate themselves and make sure that our love hasn’t grown cold. It is this third aspect of spiritual revivalism that concerns us right now. Once a person receives new life by the new birth and Jesus Christ through the indwelling Holy Spirit, that person becomes a child of God. Those who repent and turn to Jesus for forgiveness. We’ll receive the new birth found in John chapter 3.  As a new Christian, we begin to grow. We have a hunger for the word of God like a newborn baby hungers for milk (1 Peter 2:2). We drink in the wisdom of God and cry out for mercy (Matthew 4:4). The moment a person becomes saved, the Holy Spirit cleanses them from all sin and they start with a brand new clean slate (Jeremiah 50:20). But that slate begins to become tarnished when we harbor unconfessed sin and we get set aside. Non-Christians need regeneration but only true Christians may need revival. The Bible says that “as many as receive Him, to them, He gives the power to become children of God.” Shockingly, this means that we are not children of God until we actually become children of God through salvation and being born again. In other words, when children commit their first sin, they become lost and spiritually dead. If you have never received Jesus Christ as your personal Savior then you are simply not yet a true child of God. You are not saved from hell, the consequence of personal sin. You are still spiritually dead.  The Bible clarifies this by saying that “he who HAS the Son HAS life and he who does NOT have the Son does NOT have life.” It’s very clear. EITHER you HAVE a testimony of how you REPENTED FROM your sin and TURNED to Jesus Christ to save you OR you are STILL LOST AND SPIRITUALLY DEAD. Which one are you? Are you saved or lost? Only a true born again Child of God is alive in Christ. But our living faith can falter and we can stumble and fall in our walk with God. We make wrong choices and give in to temptation. We again become entangled in the affairs of this sinful world and find ourselves longing for spiritual restoration and personal revival. According to linguistic dictionaries, the root meaning of the term “revive” originates from the Latin “to again come to life.” It’s based on “re-” meaning “again,” and “vivere,” “to live”. Of certainty, the Author of Life Himself needs no revival, save the Resurrection of Jesus’s physical body from the grave. But for humans, apart from physical resuscitation, spiritual revival means your spirit comes back to life from near death. For a child of God who has truly been regenerated, spiritual life was imparted at conversion (Titus 3:5). This is when we “pass from death to life” (John 5:24) and

Souls on Spaceship Earth

Let’s consider the obvious within the sublime. Spaceship Earth, hanging in the universe, a miracle marvel of human space travel. Modern space telescopes such as NASA’s newest space telescope, SPHEREx, launched on March 11, 2025, is enabling scientists to map the entire sky, creating an unprecedented 3D map of more than 450 million galaxies and 100 million stars within our Milky Way. So you think you’re a big deal? Well, you are! What? Almost 500 million galaxies that they can now see? How many more are there? What on earth are we doing here, floating around deep space constantly moving over 50,000 miles per hour around the sun? Mercury is moving at over 100,000 miles per hour! That’s over 1,500 miles per minute and almost 30 miles per second. Think of it. Yet, there’s more to this story. For you geeks out there, earth is moving at over 1,304 miles per second around the Milky Way galaxy, and the Milky Way is moving through space at almost 350 miles per second. The combined total speed of spaceship earth in the universe is about 22,000 miles per second. Did you know that? You are moving that fast right now. Here’s the proof from NASA . Furthermore, consider that the earth is spinning in space and you are actually flying around in a circle, do you ever think about this, that you are passing the exact same spot on earth every 24 hours? And so is everyone else living along that same circular line on earth. For instance, if you could hang still and allow the earth to turn below your feet, it would pass beneath you at somewhere between 800 miles per hour to 1,000 and you would see everything and everyone that lives on the exact same latitude as you. But that would mostly be water in the ocean. Amazing, isn’t it? Do you realize that the sunrise and sunset you enjoy actually stays in the same place? We just ride through what’s called the line of termination where sunlight meets the earth’s shadow. It’s always in the same spot around the earth and facing the sun. That means there is a constant sunrise/sunset donut around the earth in a complete circle all the time in the same place and we just ride through it each dawn and dusk. The pink glow is highlighted by high clouds. Yes, even the clouds are going a thousand miles an hour around the earth. And the earth is crowned both on the top and bottom by the Aurora Borealis on top of the earth and Aurora Australis over Antarctica. These are there 24 hours a day every day but are visible to the naked eye adorning the night and becoming more acute during intense solar emissions. Our earth has several mechanisms to keep us safe without a metal wall like within a rocket. Earth’s atmosphere and the magnetosphere, protect us from subatomic particles and UV (ultraviolet) radiation that would otherwise make life cease to exist. But the sun gives us energy to enable life. Without it, we would soon die. The sun also blasts a shield into outer space to block high-energy galactic cosmic rays that could harm us. Earth is an amazing spaceship created by God. Think of it. It hangs in space upon nothing. Although we are well aware of its effects, scientists don’t really know what gravity is exactly. But it works to hold us on the ground and hold the earth in orbit around the sun. Thank God it doesn’t suddenly turn off. Do you ever realize that up is not up at all. Airplanes flying on the other side of the world right now are actually flying upside down. If you could zoom through earth instantaneously, you’d be amazed that everyone is sitting in their airplane seats but upside down. More amazing, if they could see you, you’d be upside down to them. What an interesting planet we live on. Rainbows aren’t what they seem. They are actually complete circles partially blocked by the earth. Water droplets reflect sunlight in combination and filter and disperse it into its radiant array of the full color spectrum. There is light at the end of the visible colors in the infrared (experienced as heat), ultraviolet, X-ray, Gamma ray, Radio waves (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, television, radar) and Microwaves we can’t see, but exist. The same way, God exists but can’t actually see Him with our earthly eyes. As a child, I remember sailing in the captain’s helm on a ferry going across Puget Sound in Washington state. I asked if the captain could turn the ship to find the gold at the bottom of one side of the rainbow. When the ship turned, the rainbow moved. The captain explained that it was an optical illusion since the reflected angle of the light from the sun depends on our point of view. From our point of view, we think God is just an illusion, but He’s real. When the ship moved to the right or left, the reflection in relation to the sun above also moved with us. That’s why you can’t find that illusive gold, lol. I discovered that a rainbow is completely round when I sprayed water as a fine mist from my garden hose. It glistened rainbow colors that look like a round circle of light. This really hit home when I saw a rainbow from my airplane window at a very high altitude. To my amazement, it was a complete circle, not cut off by the ground. That makes sense because the light was on all sides of the plane. We were surrounded by light and the raindrops revealed that to me. My prayer is that these heavenly truths about our place on our planet might reveal some unseen truths to you. What inspired me to write this article was a photo I took of the full solar eclipse recently. I mean, it’s a miracle that the earth and sun can appear

Make Education Great Again!

www.TakeOverTheWorld.US A Leadership Plan for the United States to Take Over the World: US Manifesto How the United States can take over the world through education. World domination through love means to care about the things that matter to God. To be “theo-centric” (God centered) means to align values, plans, and actions with the purpose of improving life. God gives each body a soul and each soul receives a body. Our bodies are a phenomenal treasure but our souls are priceless. When folks die, their soul leaves. Their bodies remain. While we are here on this planet, we need to align ourselves with the winning team; that would be God’s team. That would be following Christ, our leader. That would be altering our lives to embrace and apply the principles of God’s Word, the Bible. Following Christ by reading His marching orders, the Bible, empowers us with godly ideas and holy actions resulting in revolutionary and transformational outcomes. Repentance means to turn, about face, reverse, and change. Realignment of values causes us to repent of our “worldliness” and our selfish purposes. We need to get on board with God’s strategy, His direction, His lead. Taking over the world means taking it from that group that presently controls it. Not by isolation, but by regeneration. Regeneration means to again breathe new life into a soul. A dead, spiritually sick soul can be revived. We can change if we realign ourselves with God’s plan. The United States is falling behind globally in many areas. We are consumers but not producers, generally. We are gluttons for goods but not givers of greatness. We have supplied the world with trash and have lorded over their longings. We have failed the planet. It’s time for a monumental change. It’s time for the United States to overcome adversity and take up the cause to lead in righteousness and responsible stewardship. It all begins with a new generation of minds that will pave the way to America’s new majestic standards of honest, thoughtful, and caring leadership. Taking over the world by the US means to influence nations and peoples to follow US in righteous living not riotous ruin. So, what is the first step? The first step is taken by children. They learn to walk, ride a bike, and ultimately run a nation. We need to help them learn to walk upright. We must teach them to watch their step so they don’t trip and fall. Proper educational development means sound instruction based on proven methods. We lay the foundation and they build on it. We teach them to think positively and promote righteous living by making good choices in their daily walk. This is effective supervision. It is a super vision of the future. It will help us to restructure humanity and reorder society to align with righteousness. Drugs are bad. Promiscuity is harmful. Stealing is wrong. We can communicate destructively or constructively. Instruct caring conduct. Education means guidance. “Edu-care” means to train correctly. Too often, parents abandon children to television, video game, or online tutors. They reproduce themselves by peer input. Garbage in, garbage out. What you let into your mind stays there and eventually enacts itself in conduct. Education must not only follow a set of curriculum to cover all needed knowledge but must also check for understanding. The basics are most important because the foundation holds up the building. If Christ and the Word of God is the foundation, then everything built upon it will become strong, secure, and sustainable, even eternal. Basics such as good number sense, phonetic awareness, blending, sight words, place values, multiplication facts, and reading comprehension enable the fabulous creative curiosity of children. Their minds are sponges that want to soak up knowledge and seek truth. Without a foundational understanding of basic academic standards, “higher knowledge” can’t be attained. It’s like a ladder with missing rungs that can’t be climbed. Children need someone to check their comprehension and check understanding so remediation can be applied. If teachers make sure their kids know the basics, they can climb the ladder of knowledge and reach heights of educational success. Tests are actually our best friends. If we use them as tools to remediate teaching failures to communicate, we do the child a valuable service. We prevent them from falling into the trap of despondence and hole of despair. Kids may be distracted during lessons and miss instruction. Checking for understanding simply means making sure the lesson was received. Twelve million college graduates will enter the work force in China this year. Many of them will be brilliant, honest, and hard workers. In order for the United States to compete on a world stage, to not only exist but to excel, the people of this great nation must be equipped and empowered to think clearly and act decisively. If a perfect foundation is laid by faithful educators, our kids have a chance to make a positive impact in this world, to share the good news of the Gospel and the good purpose of powerful loving leadership that has the world’s best interest in mind and heart. The alternative is the lascivious lifestyle of rappers, rapists, rioters, and rudeness. Folks who love to spit out the “F” bomb, hold up the middle finger, love themselves before others, and lust after the flesh through music and movies, live a life of drug abuse, and homelessness, or selfish wealth, are just lying to themselves and hating on America. America stands for truth and justice. America believes that fetuses are humans. America prays for the homeless and those in despair. America takes care of their children, not allowing them to be homeless, sheltered or unsheltered. Life offers a fork in the road. This is yours. Which road will you take? To make Education Great Again in America means to foster great kids by ensuring that they come to school ready to learn and respect their teacher. Parents can begin the process of America’s recovery by
