Is Bible School Beneficial?

Some Christians believe that Bible school isn’t worth it.

What do the scriptures say?

John 14:26

“But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, He shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.”

They feel that they need no man to teach them for “the HOLY SPIRIT will teach you all things..” and HE’S FREE.

Are Bible schools needed?

According to that verse, should we get rid of all pastors and Bible teachers? Not good thinking. If nobody needs any human to share the Gospel, disciple them, or teach the Bible, WHY does God give the gift of teacher?

Notice, the verse says the Holy Spirit helps them remember what God says. God guides people who have walked that path to help others along their walk of faith.

1 Timothy 5:17 says, “Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honour, especially they who labour in the word and doctrine“.

Did that say DOCTRINE? As in Doctrine Seminary

2 Timothy 4:1–4
Instruct people to preach the word of God, be ready to teach, and reprove, rebuke, and exhort with patience.

Matthew 28:19–20
Instruct people to make disciples of all nations, baptize them, and teach them to obey everything Jesus commanded.

Colossians 3:16
Instruct people to let the word of Christ dwell in them richly, and teach and admonish one another.

Other Bible verses about teaching and preaching include Galatians 6:6, Romans 12:4–8, 2 Timothy 2:15, James 3:1, and Matthew 4:23.

Teaching is often a classroom-style way of imparting knowledge and applying it. Preaching is a way of sharing the word of God and calling people to action.

Although the Holy Spirit guides us into all truth, more than likely it’s by employing those who are experienced in God’s Word to answer questions and teach them Biblical truth.

It would an ignorant response to simply read the Bible without wise folks helping us to stay on course. When people teach Scripture, we hear their words and discern truth as filled with the Holy Spirit, who guides us into all truth.

2 Timothy 2:2

“Build up disciples who can teach others.”

Teach others? Yes, Bible schools are Biblical.

At Doctrine Seminary, we provide a framework for online students to explore the scriptures themselves using a proven writing tool. Qualified teachers supervise and approve these essays. Therein lies the solution. Students are encouraged to search the scriptures (using the Internet) to systematically form correct theology.

Upon completion of the program, students will receive doctrinal certification.
