LET’S GET OUR THEOLOGY STRAIGHT
Of course, the most liberal to most conservitive churches will be reluctant to emdorse any semjnary due to doctrinal issues. DOCTRINE THEOLOGICAL SEMINARY (DTS), comes under scrutiny by chuches, and rightly so. The reason new denominations are formed includes breaking away from a previous one for varying reasons, including doctrine. DTS is not a new denimination. We seek endorsement from Bible believing churches of all sound denomjnations and independent churches around the world. DTS welcomes endorsement from any church or denomination.
Objections to the principles and practices of DTS may include our unique methodology of student research supervision. Students are provided with guiding templates to develop their critical theology positions. Teachers at DTS can monitor their progress and make suggestions before final acceptance. All student doctrinal positions must be supported by scripture in context.
Questionable Objections
- Soteriology: The issue of Salvation is critical. Some “evangelical” churches tend to mislead folks into thinking they are saved when they may not be. Merely professing that “Christ is real” does not save. What saves is when Christ actually moves into a person and regenerates them. Without the indwelling Holy Spirit, the person is not saved.
- Assurance: Assurance of salvation is not because of what someone says or thinks about the probability of going to heaven. It comes by trust, not in what we say or do, but in the direct promises of specific scriptures in God’s Word regarding salvation and following through with a moment of rebirth. Without a direct connection to the promises of God in scripture, there is no assurance.
- Hell: Hell is very real and we are not warning folks enough about how immanent and permanent it is. Unsaved people must realize that they are lost and hell-bound.
- Speculation: Comments about unsubstantiated Biblical speculation (such as details of what heaven or hell are like) are just that and are clearly identified as such.
- Depravity: We are not born sinful. This is not scriptural. We are born innocent with a propensity to eventually sin if mentally able to do so. All who are able will sin.
- Sovereignty: God does not independently predetermine our eternal destiny before we are born. We have a choice and based on our free will choice to accept or reject Christ during our time on Earth, He elects us.
- Security: We can’t lose our salvation once truly saved. We believe in Once Saved, Always Saved (OSAS).
- Seminary: Church is different than intense theological studies. Church members aren’t intended to become scholarly theologians by going to Church without intense guidance.
- Supervision: When folks “search the scriptures” and then write their opinion, they are voicing what they know to be correct doctrine. We look at that and check it. We use that as a baseline to help folks to see the context and develop correct theology.
- Theology: Both Calvinism and Arminianism pervert the true plan of Salvation, thereby making their false gospel of Satan. Where else would that come from?
