Debbie graduated from <strong><em>American Heritage high school<\/em><\/strong> and then <strong><em>Christian Heritage college<\/em><\/strong>, both in California. She loves America.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>GEORGE WASHINGTON<\/strong>\u00a0<\/p>\n\n<p>George Washington, Founding Father, Commander-in-Chief, President of the Constitutional Convention, and the <strong><em>1st President of the United States<\/em><\/strong> (1789\u20131797), frequently linked religious observance to the preservation of liberty. In a <em><strong>1776<\/strong><\/em> order to the Continental Army (General Orders, July 9, 1776), he pronounced that &#8220;<em><strong>The blessing and protection of Heaven are at all times necessary but especially so in times of public distress and danger. The General hopes and trusts that every officer and man will endeavor to live and act as becomes a Christian soldier, defending the dearest rights and liberties of his country<\/strong><\/em>.&#8221; In his <em><strong>1783<\/strong><\/em> Circular to the States, he prayed that citizens would &#8220;<em><strong>entertain a brotherly affection and love for one another&#8230; under the Divine blessing<\/strong><\/em>.&#8221; These statements suggest that Biblical virtues are essential for sustaining America&#8217;s freedom.<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>JOHN ADAMS AND HIS SON<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p>Similarly, <strong>John Adams<\/strong>, another Founding Father, signer of the Declaration of Independence, and the <strong><em>2nd U.S. President<\/em><\/strong> (1797\u20131801), wrote in a 1813 letter to Thomas Jefferson, &#8220;<em><strong>The general principles on which the fathers achieved independence were the general principles of Christianity<\/strong><\/em>.&#8221; His son, <strong>John Quincy Adams<\/strong>, the <strong><em>6th U.S. President<\/em><\/strong>, 1825\u20131829, Son of John Adams, believed in the urgency of Bible distribution.\u00a0 He stated, &#8220;<em><strong>My hopes of a future life are all founded upon the Gospel of Christ&#8230; And may the associated distribution of the Bible proceed and prosper till the Lord shall have made \u2018bare His holy arm in the eyes of all the nations, and all the ends of the earth shall see the salvation of our God,\u2019 Isaiah 52:10<\/strong><\/em>.&#8221; This quote found in the book, Christian Heritage Fellowship, &#8220;John Quincy Adams,&#8221; Christian Quotes from the Founding Fathers, reflects his belief that understanding and applying Biblical principles fosters freedom.<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>SAMUEL LANGDON<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p><strong>Samuel Langdon<\/strong>, in &#8220;<em><strong>How the Bible Influenced the Founding Fathers<\/strong><\/em>&#8221; (OUPblog, 2016, by Daniel L. Dreisbach), as another of our nation&#8217;s Founding Fathers, as a delegate to New Hampshire\u2019s Constitutional Ratifying Convention and <strong><em>President of Harvard<\/em><\/strong> University, contended in a <strong><em>1775<\/em><\/strong> speech that &#8220;<em><strong>the civil Polity of [Biblical] Israel is doubtless an excellent general model [for America&#8217;s new government]&#8221;<\/strong><\/em> and that &#8220;<em><strong>some principal laws and orders of it may be copied, to great advantage, in more modern establishments<\/strong><\/em>.&#8221; He drew on Old Testament descriptions of Israel\u2019s governance to support the idea of a free, republican system.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>BENJAMIN RUSH<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p><strong>Benjamin Rush<\/strong>, a <strong><em>signer of the Declaration of Independence<\/em><\/strong> and a devout Christian, wrote, &#8220;<em><strong>Christianity is the only true and perfect religion, and that in proportion as mankind adopt its principles, and obey its precepts, they will be wise, and happy<\/strong><\/em>.&#8221; He believed that Biblical teachings fostered the moral foundation necessary for a free society. Rush advocated for Bible-based education in schools to instill virtues conducive to liberty (Pure Flix, &#8220;7 Founding Fathers\u2019 Quotes on Religion, God &amp; the Bible,&#8221; 2021).\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>ELIAS BOUDINOT<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p><strong>Elias Boudinot<\/strong>, delegate to the Continental Congress, <em><strong>President of Congress<\/strong> <\/em>(1782\u20131783), and founding President of the American Bible Society, urged, &#8220;<em><strong>Were you to ask me to recommend the most valuable book in the world, I should fix on the Bible as the most instructive, both to the wise and ignorant<\/strong><\/em>.&#8221; Elias Boudinot believed the Bible\u2019s dissemination was critical for maintaining a free and virtuous society in America. His advocacy for religious liberty reflects Biblical principles of conscience that permeate the Constitution of the United States and the formation of America&#8217;s government.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>JOHN JAY<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>John Jay<\/strong>, the <em><strong>1st Chief Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court<\/strong><\/em>, President of the American Bible Society and signer of the Treaty of Paris, stated, &#8220;<em><strong>Let us therefore persevere steadfastly in distributing the Scriptures far and near.<\/strong><\/em>&#8221; He believed the Bible\u2019s teachings supported the moral framework necessary for founding a free republic. His role in the American Bible Society underscores his view that biblical principles sustain liberty (American Bible Society, &#8220;6 Quotes About the Bible from the Founding Fathers,&#8221; 2017).<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>NOAH WEBSTER<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p><strong>Noah Webster<\/strong> (1758\u20131843), is known as the &#8220;<em><strong>Father of American Scholarship and Education<\/strong><\/em>.&#8221; A prolific educator, author of &#8220;<em><strong>Webster\u2019s Dictionary<\/strong><\/em>,&#8221; and as a political writer who deeply influenced America\u2019s early educational and cultural landscape. His works, including the &#8220;<em><strong>Blue-Backed Speller<\/strong><\/em>&#8221; and the &#8220;<em><strong>1828 American Dictionary of the English Language,<\/strong><\/em>&#8221; were infused with Biblical principles, emphasizing that Christianity and the Bible were foundational to America\u2019s liberty and governance by the conviction that Biblical morality underpinned the new nation\u2019s free institutions.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n<p>Noah Webster\u2019s Views on Biblical Principles in America\u2019s Founding reveal that the Bible, particularly its moral teachings, was essential for sustaining a free republic. He saw Christianity as the source of America\u2019s civil liberties and argued that education and governance must be rooted in Biblical principles to ensure the nation\u2019s prosperity and moral character.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n<p>Yet, in Democrat-run cities like New York,\u00a0 Baltimore, Chicago, Denver, Portland, Seattle, San Francisco, and Los Angeles,\u00a0 the homeless, and drug addicts, along with millions of illegal, undocumented migrants flood our streets with violent protests, challenging the very fabric of America&#8217;s Biblical foundation. Our country has recently decayed into a spiritual quagmire of deceit, deception, and debauchery.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n<p>Removing Bibles, the Ten Commandments, and prayer from schools has resulted in absolute moral decay. Social Issues such as drug addiction, rape, child sex trafficking, property theft and vandalism, car jacking, burglary, flash mob volence where cities burn and freeways are occupied, the threat of terrorism both domestic and international, American flag burning, pride flag waving, the &#8220;woke&#8221; trans-gender influence on our children, and even the very real looming threat of World War 3 along with potential nuclear annihilation remain a grave concern for today&#8217;s generation.<\/p>\n\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #993366;\"><em><strong>Noah Webster, along with all of America&#8217;s Founding Fathers, would turn over in their graves if they saw this present transformation of terror. His emphasis of the Bible\u2019s role in shaping republican virtues, civic duty, and just governance warned us to keep America free of sin&#8217;s grasp.\u00a0<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n\n<p>The Bible is the foundation of America&#8217;s laws. Webster wrote, \u201c<em><strong>The moral principles and precepts contained in the Scriptures ought to form the basis of all our civil constitutions and laws&#8230; The religion which has introduced civil liberty is the religion of Christ and His Apostles&#8230; This is genuine Christianity and to this we owe our free constitutions of government<\/strong><\/em>.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n<p>Webster argued that America\u2019s government stemmed from Christian principles, particularly the Bible\u2019s teachings on justice, equality, and moral responsibility. He believed that civil laws should reflect scriptural morality to secure liberty and prevent tyranny.\u00a0 Yet, our society, under Democratic Party rule has fled the foundation laid by our Founding Fathers and trashed the rule of law.<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>Deuteronomy 4:5-8\u00a0<\/strong> explains, \u201c<em>Behold, I have taught you statutes and judgments, even as the Lord my God commanded me&#8230; Keep therefore and do them; for this is your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the nations, which shall hear all these statutes, and say, Surely this is a wise and understanding people.\u201d This <\/em>passage reflects the idea that God\u2019s laws found in the Bible and applied to American freedom, provide a model for just governance, which Webster saw as foundational to America\u2019s constitutions (Webster, Noah. History of the United States, 1832, p. 339).\u00a0 <strong>Proverbs 14:34<\/strong> implores that<em> \u201cRighteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people<\/em>.\u201d This verse underscores the link between national prosperity and moral righteousness, a concept central to Webster\u2019s philosophy.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n<p>The Bible\u2019s role in American education underlines our liberty. \u201c<em><strong>Education is useless without the Bible. The Bible was America\u2019s basic text book in all fields. God\u2019s Word, the Bible, has furnished all necessary rules to direct our conduct<\/strong><\/em>.\u201d\u00a0 Webster\u2019s Dictionary included thousands of Biblical references that teach moral and civic values. He believed that educating youth in Biblical principles was essential for preserving liberty, because it cultivated moral character and republican virtues.\u00a0 The verse &#8220;<em>All scripture is given by inspiration of God<\/em>&#8221; is found in <strong>2 Timothy 3:16<\/strong>. The\u00a0phrase &#8220;<em>and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness<\/em>&#8221; highlights that according to Webster, &#8220;<strong><em>our citizens should early understand that the genuine source of correct republican principles is the Bible, particularly<\/em><\/strong> <strong>the New Testament or Christian religion<\/strong>.\u201d The New Testament\u2019s teachings on equality, charity, and moral accountability informed America\u2019s republican ideals which were embodied in the U.S. Constitution, the founding document of the United States of.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">According to <strong>Galatians 5:1<\/strong>, Christians should \u201c<em>Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage<\/em>.\u201d This verse reflects the Christian concept of liberty, which Webster linked to republican governance. Webster\u2019s view aligns with <strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Titus 2:11\u201312<\/span><\/strong>, \u201c<em>For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world<\/em>.\u201d This passage emphasizes the moral transformation that Webster saw as essential for citizenship.\u00a0 Americans should understand the principles that made America great and in the midst of uncertainty, strive to make America great again!
